For blood to flow out into the different body system’s organs to supply nutrients and take wastes, it must be pumped well and right by the heart. It passes the aorta opening and runs through the arteries or the passageway of the outgoing blood. If in any case the arteries constrict, the heart voluntarily pumps blood faster and more forceful, the pressure exerted on the artery walls rises. This occurence is more grave than you thought—it can complicate other organs, thus needing immediate and careful treatment.
Since the increase of blood pressure is caused by a number of reasons (discussed in another article), we are going to delve more into how we handle it. High blood pressure treatment primarily consists of the things that change the way we live life. Here is a list of lifestyle shifts that you can make:
- Regulate sodium intake. Instead of using iodized and/or regular salt, use ocean or celtic or sea salt. It has more nutrients than the more processed ones. Nonetheless, modulate sodium intake such that it may damage your kidney causing unhealthy filtration of wastes and fluids. With this happening, blood flow is affected, therefore increasing the pressure.
- Avoid fatty foods. This is rather obvious. Fats clog the arteries, making it hard for the blood to flow properly.
- Refrain from processed foods or those that have hydrogenated oils. It secretly yet radically adds fat content to your body.
- Pass up on red meat. They contain substances and chemicals that were digested by animals; they give more work to your kidney, consequently giving more work to your heart due to imbalanced blood pressure.
- Abstain from food high in sugar. They will likely generate you more fat.
- Deliberately loose weight. Weight loss should no longer remain a plan. More than looking sexy, the primary reason is for you to cut the measure of fat in your body. Right exercise frees you from unnecessary fat providing better blood circulation.
- Put a halt on wrong habits. Smoking and drinking cause high blood pressure. It’s better to forego the pleasure and keep yourself in the pink of health.
- Monitor. Untypical to other illnesses and bodily system malfunctions, high blood pressure works implicit. It’s lurking there and almost totally unnoticeable until it shoots up really high when triggered. It then gained itself the name “silent killer.” Unknowingly so, many patients have been experiencing HBP for many years before they are officially diagnosed. Lesson learned, constantly check your blood pressure and weight for you to see a trend.
Enough monitoring, support and encouragement from family and especially from friends that are undergoing the same circumstance will further your treatment. Surround yourself with a quality circle of thoughtful people and be on the way to a healthier you!
